## 1. How market choice works (important)

KallosSim is **jurisdiction-specific**. The statutory guidance, process stages, and evaluation rubric depend on which **market** you are in — not just your language or country of residence.

**We do not automatically switch your market based on where you are.** That would risk applying the wrong law (for example California rules to a practitioner in Texas, or UK Working Together to an Ontario CAS worker).

You choose market by:

1. Opening the right **landing page** (e.g. [/canada](../canada)), or
2. Using a **market-prefixed app URL** (e.g. `/ca/children/app`), or
3. Accepting the optional **suggestion banner** (which only takes you to a landing page — it does not change the app silently).

If you land on `/children/app` without a market prefix, you get the **UK** pack (Working Together 2026).

## 2. Optional jurisdiction suggestion banner

On the home page, services page, and pricing page, visitors outside the UK may see a short banner:

> *Practising in [country]? Our [pilot pack name] training pack may fit better than UK Working Together.*

| Action | What happens |
|--------|----------------|
| **View [country] pack** | Opens that market’s landing page (e.g. `/canada`) |
| **Stay on UK** | Closes the banner for this visit only |
| **× Dismiss** | Hides the banner for **30 days** (stored in your browser; no account required) |

**What we use:** approximate country from our CDN edge (not GPS). We do not store your country as personal data. See [privacy.html](../privacy.html#cookies).

**What we never do:** auto-redirect you into the app with a foreign statutory pack without your click.

## 3. Live international markets (June 2026)

Each pilot is **children’s services only** in v1. Adult, health, youth justice, witness intermediary, and HR remain **UK-only**.

| Market | Landing | App entry | Statutory focus | Pilot note |
|--------|---------|-----------|-----------------|------------|
| **UK** (default) | [/services](../services) | `/children/app`, `/adult-care/app`, … | Working Together 2026, Care Act, ACAS, … | Full six sectors |
| **Canada** | [/canada](../canada) | `/ca/children/app` | CYFSA 2017 | Ontario pilot |
| **Australia** | [/australia](../australia) | `/au/children/app` | National Framework, NSW | NSW pilot |
| **United States** | [/usa](../usa) | `/us/children/app` | CAPTA, California CDSS | California pilot |
| **Ireland** | [/ireland](../ireland) | `/ie/children/app` | Child Care Act, Children First, Tusla | National |
| **Netherlands** | [/netherlands](../netherlands) | `/nl/children/app` | Jeugdwet, Veilig Thuis | English UI |
| **Germany** | [/germany](../germany) | `/de/children/app` | SGB VIII, BKKG | German scenarios/rubric |

The coloured **role banner** at the top of the app confirms your market (e.g. *CYFSA 2017 · Ontario*).

## 4. FAQ

**I work in the UK but I’m travelling — will the banner switch me?**
No. The banner only suggests; you choose *Stay on UK* or dismiss it. Your app market follows the URL you use to sign in.

**I’m a UK practitioner training on US cases — can I use the US pack?**
Yes — open [/usa](../usa) or `/us/children/app` deliberately. Do not rely on geo detection.

**Why only children’s services abroad?**
v1 scopes one sector per market until local RAG and rubrics are validated. UK retains all six sectors.

**Where is my data processed?**
Same as UK product: Neon PostgreSQL **eu-central-1**. See [privacy.html](../privacy.html).
